West Wick College Director Christine Nyambura Muturi Dies Following a Gruesome Road Accident in Las Vegas
West Wick College Director Christine Nyambura Muturi, also known as Mentuu, has died following a road traffic accident in Las Vegas, Nevada, sending shockwaves among family, friends, former students and colleagues both in Kenya and abroad.
According to preliminary information, the accident occurred on Flamingo Road on Sunday evening at around 8:00 p.m. while Muturi was reportedly travelling from a meeting. Authorities confirmed that no other fatalities were reported. Investigations into the circumstances surrounding the crash are ongoing.
Images from the scene show the vehicle involved in a serious collision, with extensive front-end and rear damage sustained by the two vehicles. Debris was scattered across the roadway as emergency responders attended the scene and secured the area before investigations into the cause of the crash commenced.
Muturi was widely known as the founder and director of West Wick College, an institution that trained thousands of students in health sciences and other professional courses over the years. Through the college, she became a familiar figure in Kenya’s private education sector, where she championed skills development and vocational training.
News of her death spread rapidly across Kenya and abroad, attracting widespread attention on social media and other online platforms. The news sparked mixed reactions, with many expressing shock and sadness at her sudden passing.
Former students who passed through West Wick College have also shared messages of condolence, remembering Muturi as a mentor who played a role in shaping their careers and offering opportunities for professional growth.
In recent years, Muturi had also faced legal challenges in both Kenya and the United States. Those matters attracted significant public attention and remained part of her public profile. However, her death marks the end of a career that, for many, was closely associated with private education and entrepreneurship.
Her family has appealed to the public to respect their privacy as they come to terms with the loss and make arrangements for her final send-off.
Authorities in Nevada are expected to release further details regarding the crash as investigations continue, while funeral and memorial arrangements will be announced by the family in due course.
