Kenyan entertainer Samuel Muraya, widely known as DJ Mo, has been fined Ksh5,000 after admitting traffic offences arising from an incident along Thika Road in Nairobi.

DJ Mo appeared before the Milimani Chief Magistrate’s Traffic Court on Wednesday, November 4, 2026, following his arrest by police officers from Kasarani Police Station.

Jaguar Insurance Offence

According to the charge sheet, the incident occurred at approximately 8:55am near Roasters along Thika Road.

The entertainer was accused of driving a Jaguar bearing registration number KCH 065T without a valid third-party motor vehicle insurance certificate.

The charge was brought under the Insurance (Motor Vehicle Third Party Risks) Act. He also faced an alternative count of failing to display a valid insurance certificate.

Accused of Ignoring Police Instructions

In another count, DJ Mo was accused of disobeying instructions issued by a uniformed police officer identified as Corporal Chelimo.

The charge sheet stated that the officer directed him to drive the vehicle to the police station, but he allegedly declined and proceeded towards Thika instead.

Corporal Chelimo and Police Constable Cheruiyot were listed as prosecution witnesses in the case.

Court Imposes Ksh5,000 Fine

DJ Mo pleaded guilty to the charges before the traffic court and was subsequently fined Ksh5,000.

The ruling concluded the proceedings against the entertainer over the two traffic-related offences.
