An  Employment and Labour Relations Court (ELRC) has granted an adjournment in a case filed by Director George Ototo against the Kenya Union of Savings and Credit Co-operatives (KUSSCO)

The matter, listed as Case No. ELRC E753/24, came up for hearing before Honorable Judge Onessmus Makau where he passed the ruling following an application by the defense team, represented by Lawyer Cecil Miller representing the respondent KUSSCO.

The application was an order to allow the defense team to present an expert witness to court and to file a witness statement. Lawyer Cecil Miller is the main counsel represnenting KUSSCO.

However, the application for an adjournment was opposed by George Ototo’s legal counsel, Advocates Mukonyi and Waweru. They insisted that they were ready to proceed with the hearing.

In his ruling, Honorable Judge Onesmus Makau noted that it was in fair interest to allow the application . “It is in the fair interest of justice and all parties involved to allow this application.”

The judge however did not let KUSSCO off easily issuing conditional terms. He directed that the expert’s witness statement be served by the end of the day.The matter is set to continue on June 11,2026.
