Jubilee Senatorial Aspirant Calls for Leadership Changes Amid Party Wrangles in Kiambu.

An aspirant from Kiambu County is calling for changes in leadership within the party .

Hon.Nduta  Wangai who is eying a Senatorial seat in the coming General Elections has called for better leadership within Jubilee Party citing concerns over governance, transparency, and grassroots engagement ahead of the 2027 General Election.
Wangai, together with a section of Jubilee Party members, has accused Kiambu County Chairman George Maara of operating the county secretariat in an exclusive manner, alleging that access to party affairs and decision-making has been concentrated within his office.

The members claim that ordinary party supporters and officials have struggled to engage with the county leadership, raising concerns about transparency, inclusivity, and accountability in the management of party affairs.

According to the group, repeated attempts to reach Chairman Maara have been unsuccessful. They allege that he rarely responds to phone calls, does not adequately consult party officials and members, and has failed to uphold the leadership values expected within the party.

They also claim that the county leadership has not shown sufficient respect for the party’s national leader, former President Uhuru Kenyatta.

The dispute has intensified as the party prepares for the 2027 General Election.
Wangai’s supporters argue that the current county leadership has weakened the party’s grassroots structures and slowed efforts to strengthen Jubilee’s presence across Kiambu County.

The group is now calling on George Maara to either step down as the Jubilee Party’s Kiambu County Chairman or withdraw any plans to contest the Kiambu Senate seat in 2027. They contend that his management of the county party office demonstrates that he would struggle to effectively balance both responsibilities.

The developments underscore growing tensions within the Jubilee Party’s Kiambu chapter as leaders position themselves ahead of the 2027 elections. George Maara and the Jubilee Party leadership had not publicly responded to the allegations at the time of publication.
