The game Kenya Catchball brought together over 200 teams from all over the country to compete for a trophy.

The Nairobi team travelled to Mombasa on August 8, 2025, to participate in the tournament hosted by the Mombasa Catchball Association.
The winners were Catchball Umoja. Girls, champions of the senior women’s category.
In most senior categories, the winners were the Catchball Eaglets, who, despite their age of above 40 years, played very well.

In a congratulatory message, the president of the Catchball Federation, Mr Shadrack Okello, said that the team deserved victory. “As the senior team, you have made us proud,” added Okello.
“To the rest of our dedicated teams, just to mention Kayole Superstars, Eastlando’s most senior team.

Great job on your victory! Your dedication, teamwork, and hard work truly paid off today in making the Catchball Mombasa tournament a memorable Catchball event,” he added.
Maxwell, a team coordinator, said he was very impressed by the number of players who made it to Mombasa despite economic hardship.
He thanked all participants and urged the stakeholders and sports officials to join and support the team to grow.
He said he is very proud of all participants.
