Kenya is set to host its first full HYROX-style fitness race simulation as FirstPower Fitness stages the inaugural FIRSTROX Experience on Saturday, August 15, 2026, at The Waterfront in Karen.
The event, which starts at 7:30am, is expected to bring together fitness enthusiasts and competitive athletes for a high-intensity challenge combining running and functional workouts. Organisers say the competition is designed to bring the experience of international fitness races to Kenya.
Participants will tackle eight functional workout stations, with each station separated by a 1km run, creating a demanding test of endurance, strength and speed.
The competition will feature Open and Masters categories, with athletes allowed to compete as individuals, pairs or relay teams. Competitors will also be fighting for a share of a Sh370,000 prize purse.
FirstPower Fitness said the event will deliver a combination of athletic competition and entertainment for both participants and spectators.
“FirstPower Fitness is proud to host Kenya’s inaugural FIRSTROX Experience,” the organisers said, describing it as the country’s “first-ever full HYROX-style fitness race simulation.”
Spectators will be allowed to attend the event free of charge, with organisers promising food, entertainment and an atmosphere aimed at fitness enthusiasts, families and friends.
Last-minute entries will remain open until Thursday at noon, with interested competitors directed to contact the organisers.
FirstPower Fitness, a functional training and CrossFit affiliate based in Nairobi, said the event forms part of its efforts to build hybrid fitness communities and push athletic performance.
The fitness centre also offers specialised training, including a Master Class for people aged above 50, which organisers say has attracted strong participation.
