Nfundiko Kamira Jean Marie, a suspect in the case involving 25 million gold, has been formally charged at the Milimani Law Courts.
He entered a plea of not guilty before Magistrate Dolphina Alego. Despite opposition from the prosecution, his release on bail was denied, and he will remain in custody until May 7, 2025, pending a bail ruling.

The accusations levelled against him span from May 27, 2024, to July 31, 2024, alleging that he, along with unidentified accomplices, unlawfully obtained over 200,000 shillings from Tanner Caldwell Cook through fraudulent gold transactions.
Marie is accused of deceiving Caldwell by falsely claiming to possess and sell 50 kilograms of gold.
