Abdullahi Yusuf Secures Court Orders Halting FKF Leadership Shake-Up.

Abdullahi Yusuf, a member of the Football Kenya Federation (FKF) National Executive Committee, has secured conservatory orders from the High Court in Kiambu halting his removal from office and any interference with his position.

In Constitutional Petition No. E032 of 2026, Yusuf challenged resolutions allegedly passed on April 24, 2026, which required him to step aside from his role.

The court, in directions issued on April 28, 2026, restrained the FKF National Executive Committee from suspending, removing, or in any way interfering with Yusuf’s position pending the hearing and determination of the application.

It further ordered that any action already taken against him be reversed, restoring the situation as it existed before the disputed resolutions.

Yusuf argues that the meeting which led to the resolutions was irregular and unconstitutional, stating that he was neither notified of the meeting nor given an opportunity to be heard before adverse decisions were made against him.

The petition cites violations of the right to fair administrative action, the right to a fair hearing, the right to dignity and equality before the law and the right of access to information, maintaining that the process breached the rules of natural justice.

Court documents further indicate that the contested resolutions affected leadership structures within FKF, including directives impacting the federation’s administration.

The court certified the matter as urgent and directed parties to file responses ahead of further directions on the hearing of the application and petition.

The case raises key legal questions on governance within FKF and the application of constitutional standards in decision-making processes affecting public institutions.
