Gospel Singer Ringtone

In a dramatic twist that’s shaking the gospel music scene, gospel singer Ringtone, popular musician Alex Nyachonga Apoko, famously known as Ringtone, found himself in the dock at Milimani Law Courts alongside his co-accused, Alfred Juma Ayora. The duo faces serious charges of defrauding businesswoman Terresia Adhiambo of prime Karen land valued at a staggering Ksh 50 million.

According to court documents, the controversial land grab allegedly took place on or before February 28, 2023. Ringtone and Ayora are accused of falsely claiming the 0.1908-hectare plot, located at NAIROBI/BLOCK 99/142, through adverse possession, insisting Ringtone had occupied the land for over 20 years.

But the plot thickens: the two are also slapped with charges of forgery and perjury after allegedly presenting a false affidavit before advocate S.M. Katonya, swearing to Ringtone’s long-term residency, a claim the prosecution vehemently disputes.

In a tense courtroom moment, Senior Principal Magistrate Dolphina Alego denied Ringtone’s bail request, postponing the ruling to Monday. As the case unfolds, fans and followers are left in shock, wondering how their favourite gospel star got entangled in such a high-stakes scandal.
