Former Kiambu Governor Ferdinand Waititu attended court for a scheduled hearing in a defamation case, but the proceedings did not go on after his advocate failed to appear.

The court was notified of the absence and the presiding judicial officer postponed the matter to allow the defence legal team to be present.

Waititu was in attendance when the court granted the adjournment.

Further directions, including a new hearing date, are to be issued by the court.
