Minors Freed on Sh50,000 Bail in Flag Desecration Case.

Two teenagers accused of desecrating the Kenyan flag during a CAF Champions League fixture have been released on cash bail of Sh50,000 each, pending the filing of probation and social inquiry reports.

The decision was made on Thursday by Milimani Children’s Court Magistrate, who ruled that the boys will not take plea until the reports are presented in court. Each of them is also required to provide two sureties, one of whom must be a Kenyan citizen.

During the proceedings, the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions (ODPP) acknowledged that although the minors had already been interviewed, the probation reports were not ready. The prosecution nonetheless pressed for plea-taking to go ahead, citi…
